1870 IA CENSUS: "Sony Wickham" was living 1st Ward, Keokuk, Lee Co, IA with S. M. (wife) and William, age 4, b. MO. Cyrus was listed as being a "drayman".

1880 MO CENSUS, Clark Co, Lincoln Twp: Cyrus M. Wickham, 37, stone mason, b. OH; wife Sarah, 31, b. OH, cannot read/write: son William A, 14, day laborer, b. MO; dau. Effie, 9, b. MO; son Edward, 6, b. MO; dau. Sarah, 4, b. MO; son John, 1, b. MO.

July 1, 1940 LETTER FROM (a child of John Henan Wickham) Kansas City, MO; "My fathers oldest brother (later in letter referred to as William A. Wickham) was last heard from in 1893 at that time he was in the Black mountains. He was married and had two or three children. His marriage isn't listed in the family bible.
I will send you the family history that I coped from my grandmother's bible. My grandfather & mother were Mr. & Mrs. Cyrus M. Wickham. Cyrus M. Wickham was born Feb. 26, 1843. Sarah M. Claypool was born May 16 -1850. They were married April 20, 1865. They had six children - William Aderson Wickham was born March 7, 1866. Anney Mahala Wickham was born Oct. 18th 1867. Eva May Wickham was born June 18th 1870. Charley Edward Wickham was born April 14th 1873. Sarah Louisa Wickham was born July 5th 1870. John Henan Wickham was born April 4th 1879.
Marriages - Wm. Henry Irvin and Eva May Wickham were married April 24th 1885. Isic Newton Grabill and Sarah L. Wickham were married Sept. 10th 1895. K.C. Mo. Charles E. Wickham and Maggie Stafford were married Nov. 4, 1896 - K.C. Mo. John H. Wickham and Lora Noblitt were married Nov. 5, 1905 at Decatur, Ark.
Grandchildren - Willard Newton Grabill born Aug. 30, 1902. Ruth Wickham born Nov. 7, 1906. John Herbert Wickham born Nov. 30, 1907. Erma Wickham born Feb. 3, 1909. Charles Marion Wickham born Dec. 27, 1914. Sarah Edna Wickham born Sept. 1, 1916.
Deaths - Ammey Mahala Wickham died July 5, 1868. C. M. Wickham died Oct. 19, 1884 at 1:26 P. M. aged 41 years 7 months and 26 days. Eva May Irvin died July 9(?), 1887. Sarah M. Wickham Van Camp died Dec. 18, 1915 (my grandmother) Sarah Edna Wickham died Oct. 7, 1916. John Henan Wickham died Oct. 4, 1933 (my father)."
"My uncle, Charley E. Wickham lives in Fontana Calif. My aunt Sadie Grabill lives in Yakima, Wash. I think that they had an uncle Jake Wickham that lived in Iowa." (transcribed as written)

Sept. 27, 1940 LETTER FROM W. N. GRABILL, Yakima, WA: "Cyrus Wickham was my mothers father and he had six children William, Anna, Eva, Charles, Sara L. and John. William was married and has a family but we have not heard from him in years. Anna died when a baby. Eva married Mr. Irvin and had two children she died in 1887 in Texas. Charles lives in Frontanna, Calif and is married but has no children. Sara L. or Sadie L as she is known is my mother. She has only one child W. N. Grabill who is married and has three daughters, Shirley, Lois and Nancy. We reside as you know in Yakima. John lived in Kansas City, Mo and had four children Ruth, John, Erma and Marion. Ruth married Wm. Newby and lives in Kansas City, Mo. she has one boy Milford. John or Herbert as he is known lives in Kansas City and has two children. Erma married Rudolf Kersey and lives in Kansas City and has two children. Marion is single and lives with his mother in Kansas City.
My mother's father lived in Ohio before coming to Missouri but just where in Ohio is not known. My mother's mother was Sarah Claypool who lived in Keytsville, Mo. " (Keytesville is in Chariton Co, MO - transcribed as written)

OBIT: from Grabill family Bible dated Oct. 21, 1884, Lanark, TX. Cyrus ran a saw mill with his brother Capt. William J. Wickham after moving to TX about 1 year before he died. He had recently joined the Masonic Lodge. Buried Queen City Cemetery, TX.

Cyrus married Sarah Mahala CLAYPOOL, daughter of David CLAYPOOL and Mahala (---), on 20 Apr 1865 in Clark Co, MO.¹ (Sarah Mahala CLAYPOOL was born on 16 May 1850 in OH ³ and died on 18 Dec 1915 ³.)
