PARENTS: Gilbert McElree was referred to in Almon Wickham's obit as a son by a former marriage. Was Grace Chapman Gilbert's mother? And why was he named McElree? William McElree's wife's maiden name was Myrtle Chapman and according to the 1925 IA State Census, her parents were Isaac Chapman & Jane Baily, same parents as Grace Chapman. Did the McElree's adopt him after Almon and Grace divorced?
