OBIT: The Winfield Beacon (IA) Daisy Belle Stevens, 84, passed away early Sunday morning, Feb. 11, 1979 at her home near Winfield.
The daughter of John and Nellie (Smith) Wickham, she was born Mar. 20, 1894 at Kahoka, MO. She was married to Horace Wilson Stevens on Jan. 20, 1916 at Kahoka, Missouri. He passed away Mar. 8, 1976.
She was a member of the Canaan Methodist Church until it was closed then she transferred her membership to the United Methodist Church in Winfield.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Frances Seyb of Winfield, two sons, Charles of Mt. Union and Robert of Winfield; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was also preceded by one grandson; one granddaughter and two brothers.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Wed. Feb. 14, 1979 at the Winfield United Methodist Church. Rev. Harold E. Schirm officiated. Mrs. Michael Garris was organist and Jerry Fricke was soloist.
Casket bearers were Edmund Krieger, Richard Remick, Robert Briggs, Robert Hecker, John Rodruck and Leland McCosh.
Interment was in Trinity Cem., Henry Co, IA. Barton-McKasson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
