OBIT, 1962: "He grew to manhood in this community where he attended rural school. His entire life has been spent in farming." Five children were born to his first wife and 6 children to his 2nd wife. Surviving children include "3 sons, Homer, Larry and Kenneth; four daughters, Verna Van Wyke, Margie Stevens, June Sheets and Dorothy Talbert; also one step-son, Harold Tish; 18 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren".
