LETTER FROM ELEANOR AINSWORTH GREENLIEF BAIRD TO MARTY GREENLIEF, 2-19-1986: "Dora and Harry Greenlief had only one child: Irwin Wickham Greenlief (originally named Irwin Llewellyn Greenlief - the story is that the name Llewellyn was from a romantic novel Dora had been reading - Irwin didn't like the name so changed it to Wickham). Dora had a brother, Ernest Wickham, who had two sons and a daughter; Clarence, (now the retired mayor of Waverly, Ia.; add 811-5th St. NW, Waverly, Ia., 50677, who can probably give you more info. on the Wickham). Ernest Wickham's other son and daughter are now deceased. Dora wanted to adopt the daughter, Alice, but Harry wouldn't agree, so when your Aunt June came along, she took the place, in Dora's heart, of the daughter she didn't have, as well as the granddaughter."
