OBIT, Gazette-Herald, Kahoka, MO, Jan. 10, 1947: Charles Addison Wickham, a resident of Keokuk (IA) for more than half a century and in later years bailiff for the grand jury in district court, died at the Graham hospital Sat. night. He had been a patient in the hospital since Nov. 15 when he broke his hip in a fall. Mr. Wickham, known as "Kid", came to Keokuk as a young man from Kahoka, MO, to play ball and hoped to make this a career but had to give it up due to illness. For more than 12 years he served as conductor on the Warsaw Interurban. In later years he engaged in the house and sign painting and decorating business. Born Nov. 1, 1876, in Kahoka, he was the son of Jacob and Sarah Thompson Wickham. On May 9, 1911, he married Conna Roche in Keokuk. Surviving in addition to his wife is a sister, Mrs. Anna Butler of Kahoka. His parents, 2 brothers, John W. and Thomas A. Wickham and 2 sisters, Mrs. Mary Jane Bash and Mrs. Flora Whitehead, preceded him in death. The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon in the Schmidt Memorial home with burial in Oakland Cem, Warsaw, IL.

Oct. 10, 1940 LETTER TO ARTHUR WICKHAM FROM MR. & MRS. C. A. (CHARLES ADDISON) WICKHAM of Keokuk, IA: "Mr. Wickham's fore fathers came early to this country from England, this is all any one left knows."
